Coach-Two-Win - The Play Better Method Coach-Two-Win is a coach training program where you learn the Play Better Coaching Method TM and experience the power of Serious Play. The value of a method If you are a professional coach in practice or in training this program will provide you with something of extreme value: a METHOD. - Game plan
- Expand inner awareness
- Design winning environments
Coach The Game Deliver what a player expects from a coach
The Coach The Game program gets to the heart of what most people expect from a coach: Solid knowledge of the game and the ability to help them play better consistently and get sustainable results.
There are the themes in this course:
1) Create a compelling action-oriented, result-focused game for your player play and master 2) Evaluate progress based on results - celebrate successes and learn from failure 3) Understand the flow of a coaching session by weaving together the elements of the Play Better Coaching Method 4) Understand and use the fundamental components of most life games 5) Understand the important distinction between focus on outcomes vs. focus on mastery 6) Understand how to organize practices and projects into a game worth playing
And we will explore more deeply the four key steps for playing better that were covered in the Coach-Two-Win Course. 1) The ability to teach your player how to play the game better by helping them learn, practice and refine the skills of the game 2) The ability to help your player craft an effective personalized game plan. 3) The ability to expand awareness through playing and facing challenges 4) The ability to create environments for sustainable results.
You will learn to deliver what a player expects from a coach
Your players / clients trust you to have a way of doing things that is reliable, consistent and grounded in experience. They expect you to have solid knowledge of the game and a clear method for guiding them to the results they desire.
In many coaching theories and schools of thought, knowledge of the game is grossly overlooked, even dismissed. Not here. We know that your knowledge, wisdom and experience is one of your greatest assets as a coach and in this program we show you how to refine it and leverage it for the maximum benefit of your players / clients.
Basic Coaching Learn and Practice the Skills of the Craft
Learn the basics in a whole new way! Working with the basics is valuable for new and experienced coaches. In this program you will learn the fundamentals of coaching ethics (as defined by the International Coach Federation) in a group dialogue about challenging real life situations. Then you will also learn and practice using the basic coaching skills one by one. These skills will establish your foundation as a practicing coach.
Coaching Ethics
The first session of this six session course is dedicated to Coaching ethics and agreements (the first two of eleven ICF Core Competencies). It is a surprisingly lively session.
1) Coaching Ethics (in real life situations). In this class we will review the Ethics and Standards for the coaching profession as defined by the International Coach Federation. Ethics can often be a rather dry topic. However they will come to life through a lively look at real life, often ethically challenging situations.
We will also discuss important distinctions between coaching and other helping professions such as Psychotherapy, Counseling and Consulting; including how and when to refer a coaching client to another professional.
2) Coaching Agreement (including Policies, Procedures and Professional Boundaries) Each coach has unique sensibilities around rules, standards and boundaries and systems. Your policies are up to you but must address: scheduling and re-scheduling, cancellations and make-up sessions, contact outside of the coaching session, payment options (if applicable), topic boundaries, written communications and requests and promises.
Coaching Skills
In sessions 2-5 of this six session course we will cover each of the remaning 9 Core Coaching Competencies one at a time in a way that makes them easy to use and remember. To be a master craftsperson you must know and practice the basic skills. Using our DTMOPP learning method, you will learn the 9 basic skills through observation and practice. This is important because your ability to demonstrate these skills is what will ultimately determine your certification.
