The Industrial Economy has been dominant force in world affairs for the past 120 years.

A snapshot of the Industrial Economy
The Industrial Economy is the economy of things.
People are workers with jobs to contribute to making things.
People are consumers of the things others make.

The fundamental philosophies of the Industrial Economy:
More is Better; Cheaper is Better; Efficient is Better
THINGS will make you HAPPY
WORK is good. 
We go to work every day. We work at our jobs, we work on our relationships; we work on our golf; We have turned everything into WORK.

While the industrial economy was in full swing - up until 2 years ago - there was not much room for coaching in peoples lives because coaching is NOT about working better! Coaching is NOT about the accumulation of THINGS just for the sake of having them.

Over the past 20 years there has been a MAJOR expansion of human consciousness; a beautiful awakening of the human spirit. YOU have actually been a part of it.

As people around the world wake up to the real possibilities of life, they are not so interested in accumulating cheap things - especially things that were made cheaply and efficiently by abusing the Earth and people. They are not very interested in toiling away at a meaningless job just so that they can earn the money to buy more things.

So...
My theory of this shift in awareness is CAUSING the recession.
The recession is happening because people are NOT consuming the cheap things produced by Industrial Economy Companies. As people buy less, the economy naturally recesses.

But think about the double meaning of the word RECESS!
Recess is the time to STOP WORKING and PLAY!

Introducing the Inspiration Economy...

The Inspiration Economy is the economy of Purpose. 

It is fueled by the human desire to live purposefully and add value to the lives of others. 
It is fueled by the human desire for things that are made with inspiration - inspiration is NOT always efficient.
It is fueled by the human spirit of play - the desire for purposeful play.

In the inspiration economy people make decisions about that they will do and create for others based on what will best fulfill their purpose.

In the Inspiration economy people make buying decisions based on what inspires them, and adds value to themselves and their communities.

The fundamental philosophies of the Inspiration Economy...

Better is Better. (sounds simple but it is profound)
People are NOT consumers, they are INVESTORS; in themselves and in beautiful things for their environments
People are NOT workers, they are PLAYERS and CREATORS of value; creating things and services that add value to the lives of others in a way that fulfills their own purpose.

Purposeful Play is good. People can elicit and channel the human spirit of play in ANY endeavor that is meaningful to them: career, family, business, health, romance, spiritual connection.
Play is a choice; it is a away to approach life with creativity, fun, resilience, collaboration and resourcefulness.

COACHING is a service whose time has come!

In the Inspiration Economy there are MILLIONS of people who are NOW yearning for CLARITY of PURPOSE and EAGER to PLAY.

The ultimate purpose of coaching is to teach an individual or team how to PLAY better, to PLAY a meaningful game and to win on their own terms.

So we as coaches are actually the a driving force for the Inspiration Economy.
Under these conditions is VERY possible to build a fruitful business.

AND there are some equally large challenges that we must face in order to fulfill this BIG possibility.
