![]() Introduction The Distinctionary is a collection of 225 paired words, or distinctions such as: > Power and Strength > Satisfaction and Fulfillment > Promote and Attract Generally, the richer of the two words is the one on the right. This is the direction that human evolution is moving. Why are distinctions useful? As part of the listening process, coaches hear 'where' the person is and/or what word of the two words they are oriented around or coming from. For examples, many clients are still 'stuck' in the power dynamic of life (force, dominance, victory, win/lose, etc.). For a client to evolve, they would want to embrace and reorient around the notion of strength (resourcefulness, collaboration, win/win, development/success from within, etc.) Even a single distinction can add tremendous value to a client's life or business. They truly are reorienting and naturally evolve the client. How to use this resource Some people love reading the Distinctionary straightaway, although many would say it's a pretty dry read. We suggest that you skim it and see which 5 or 10 words grab your attention and then read the explanation for those word pairs. It can be as easy as reading. Because once you become aware of the distinction, it begins to work on your mind, expanding it to include the stronger one. A seed planted; a tug made. Availability and format The Distinctionary is available in html (235k) and PDF (185k) formats. Enjoy! return to CoachVille member area copyright 2002 by coachville.com. no duplication. |
