The mantra of every successful coach and leader. Why? Because players want a coach who knows how to win the game they are playing. Certainty is an energy that almost oozes out of you and is extremely attractive. 

Certainty is an amazing blend of confidence AND humility. It is knowing that you know AND knowing that you don’t know at the same time.

When you have certainty, players WANT you to coach them.

Part 1: Live your game!

In this session, you will be challenged to answer the most fundamental question: How have you earned the right to coach? (to lead?)

It is based on a truth about coaching that is rarely discussed:

YOU CAN ONLY COACH MASTERFULLY A GAME THAT YOU HAVE LIVED!

In this section you will work with a small group to articulate a POWERFUL personal story that combines the elements of games that you have lived with your expertise, values and strengths. This story will become a highly effective marketing and sales tool.

Your areas of certainty become the foundation for your highly credible brand; a brand that you bring to the market with passion and confidence. You will learn Dave’s famous “how to talk about what you do” dialogue and practice it during the session. 

Part 2: The Coach-Two-Win Method

For coaching to become a mainstream profession we MUST establish a new brand of coaching; one that people can quickly understand and see the value. This brand of coaching we call: Coach Two Win. 

This process is powerful because most people already understand that the purpose of coaching is to play better and to win. So now, YOU, have to learn how to help players win. This is it.

In this session through dialogue, observation and practice you will learn the five elements of the method:

Becoming a Positive Deviant
Success Secrets of the 21^st Century ^TM

The theory: To lead a community you’ve got to stand out
In this unique workshop we will play a dynamic learning game that will bring to life the essential qualities of a positive deviant. Your level of deviance will be tested for sure; To win the game you will have demonstrate the qualities that enable positive deviants to be leaders in industry and community.

The 7 Characteristics of a Positive Deviant:

1) Passion
Passion is the fuel behind your vision; It is the element that transforms selling into enrolling. Positive Deviants don’t quit because their passion drives them to find solutions to tough situations

2) High Moral or Social Purpose
Positive deviants have a “meta” perspective on their role or mission in life. This mission includes something greater than themselves, something that propels their behavior.

3) Seeing Holes vs. the Net
Positive deviants see the fishnet as an opportunity to break the traditional conceptual pattern; they are convinced that there is more than one right answer. To optimize the number of possible solutions, they intentionally change their perspective.

4) Moving Towards, Not Away
Positive Deviants focus on what is possible, what is desired. All acts are held in the context of moving toward success; they hold every activity as a step toward actualizing their vision.

5) Rapid Cognition
In almost any situation the positive deviant is able to move from “micro” to “macro” rapidly. The Positive Deviant intentionally perturbs their system knowing that it will increase the likelihood of a breakthrough.

6) Checking the Edges
Positive Deviants are passionately refining their techniques by exploring (learning) what is happening on the fringe. They do their best to anticipate the future rather than react to it.

7) Low Regard for Social Convention
For the Positive Deviant, following the rules creates ruts. They follow an internal compass that is not easily swayed by traditional convention; They tap into energies which heighten their consciousness.

Finally, we will learn two compelling theories of success for the 21st century: Network Science and Dynamic Value.

To build success you must be the hub of a powerful network AND you must have a reliable way to create “Dy-Val”.

Marshall will give examples of strategies based on the new theories as well as share entertaining anecdotes from his time with Edward Deming and Bucky Fuller.
