“They”- are coming for our jobs, our livelihoods and they don’t care how much suffering they cause. “They” are the Tech Bros and Capitalist CEO’s.

“They” are blinded by greed, lacking in both empathy and collective care.

“They” are the “products” of our deeply dehumanizing toxic Industrial culture.  So, we have to muster up a little compassion for their pain. But, we don’t have to buy their AI CRAP!

True! We DO want the toxic Industrial Command and Control Organizations to STOP hiring Humans!

What we also must do… is get our power back! With our Human Connection Powers, we can co-create a new Marketplace of Human Connection “jobs” and businesses where everyone is valued and cared for.

Hello to YOU! Coach Dave Buck here. I will be your guide on your CoachVille Adventure – and this “Talking Website”! So, I want to briefly introduce myself.

I often say that my life has been a coaching masterclass. I grew up with a music coach mom and her studio was right under my bedroom so I heard a LOT of coaching. I started coaching youth soccer when I was 14. I played in both performance arts and athletics and had many amazing coaches. I started coaching as a volunteer in the Landmark Education community in my early 30’s. I was an assistant to Hall-Of-Fame Soccer Coach Manny Schellscheidt for 14 years! I was “right-hand-man” of Thomas Leonard who is known as the founding father of Professional Life Coaching. I have coached over 1,000 people. I have facilitated Coach Education Classes for thousands of coaches. I eat, breath, and live Life Coaching! You are in good hands with me.

Transformation and the Dead Butterfly

The Truth Bomb… the choice…

To be a great coach – to be EPIC – you have to be WILLING to challenge your players and PRACTICE with them. As matter of fact, it is more than willing. You have to get really good at it!

We can start by challenging the popular dictum: “We have all of our own answers inside of us.” This is nonsense! We don’t have answers inside of us. We DO have natural abilities that we can transform into SKILLS with practice. But life, and our dreams, are a co-creation with others… and most of our answers come from other people. Guiding practice is the key to transformation.

The Story…

For coaching to thrive in the “After AI Economy” we must “Skill Up” from being “helpful” to being transformational.

The butterfly is the symbol of transformation. There are several aspects of the butterfly that we can use as a metaphor for Transformational Coaching!

The Caterpillar doesn’t become a butterfly by fixing it’s caterpillar problems!

If you “help” the butterfly emerge from the chrysalis, it will die.

Transformation and the Dead Fish

In this fun story about me and my mom, the music coach, you learn what we learned when a bunch of fish in our tropical fish tank died.

The WATER had become toxic.

This is a powerful metaphor for our lives as Humans. We absorb culture like fish absorb water.

So if several people have the same “problem”, like anxiety or self-doubt, it’s the toxic culture that is the cause.

Meanwhile, we have been taught that control is the solution to these problems.

Like: “How to get your anxiety under control”

But this is TOTALLY wrong.

Control is the cause of our problems.

Connection SKILLS are the solution to our many problems.

Treasure Map of Problems

There are two reasons why people hire a Life Coach:
.1. To pursue their dreams by practicing the SKILLS they need; Dreams like business, leadership, career, better health and personal growth.

.2. To find a creative solution to a recurring problem. Problems like self-doubt, anxiety, addiction, loneliness, frustration, apathy, not enough time (and so much more)

While coaching is NOT an intervention for problems, it turns out that Human Connection SKILLS are the path to “disappear” most human problems.

As I shared in the Dead Fish Story… MOST human problems are not personal, they are caused by the toxic culture of control, neglect and obedience which has the effect of stifling our Human Nature and stunting the growth of our Human Connection SKILLS.

The “Treasure Map” is a great tool from our Coach Education program that helps the coach and player see what SKILLS they can practice together to “disappear” a problem by getting their Power Back!

The SKILL of choosing companions can disappear loneliness.

The SKILL of self-determination can disappear self-doubt.

First we practice in a safe space with a coach and then we bring our new skills bit by bit into the world around us. Like I said in the Dead Fish Story… We have to Change the Water… metaphorically… by that I mean we have to change the culture around us.
