The Question...
>>>>> What else should I know about pay-per-click search engines? <<<<<

Last week's summary...
1. If you are serious about directing ready-to-hire-you clients to your website, one of the most effective ways is to use pay-per-click search engines.
2. GoTo.com is the granddaddy of this type of search engine
3. You may anywhere from 5 cents to a dollar or more each time someone comes to your site from GoTo.com.
If you missed last week's issue it is here.

Should I opt for a premium listing at GoTo.com?
Most likely, yes. This, because it's only the top 3 listings in any category that also get display 'high up' at the search engines that GoTo.com has deals with, notably AOL, InfoSeek, Lycos and HotBot.

In other words, when anyone types in the key words at AOL, InfoSeek, etc. that you have reserved via GoTo.com, they'll see your listing!  (Obviously, GoTo.com is sharing some of the fees you are paying GoTo with these other search engines which is a bonanza for them!  However, for your site to appear high up at those other search engines, you need to 'pay enough' for your site to be in the top 3 at GoTo.

Bottom line is that the extra traffic you will receive will be double, triple or even 5 times more than what you would get just from GoTo.com.  You'll pay for this, but if you're serious about driving traffic to your site, it's a small price to pay.   And, if you find visitors aren't buying your service/products, you can always pull your listing at GoTo.com.

or...

Key Point...
In addition to continuing to offer your current professional services, why not consider creating e-products that visitors can buy from your site?  More on this in a future issue of Full Practice.

Where can I get more info on pay-per-click search engines?

The best site around for this is payperclicksearchengines.com.  There you can check out the many pay-per-click search engines and read the evaluations (each has its strong and weak points).  They are 87+ listings.

The moral of the story...
There are three morals of this story...
1. Paying for traffic is here to stay and is usually a worthwhile marketing investment.
2. If you're not getting the conversion results (visitors buying from you), tweak your website until they do.  (More on this in a future issue.)
3. As you learn more about pay-per-click search engines, you'll start to realize that you can create ebooks and classes and other buy-ables to solve the individual problems and needs of people vs just assuming that all you have to offer is your professional services as you've traditionally packaged them.

Have a great week.  And check out my cool Perfect 100 Coaching Program that start in early June.  What a great time to have a perfect life...

Best,

Thomas

Announcing the Perfect 100 Course...
If you perfected 100 things -- big and small -- in your personal and professional life, what would then become possible for you?

There comes a time in life where some lucky people have the opportunity to just say something like "Okay, THIS is time to buff up, upgrade, perfect, tweak, simplify, automate and calibrate everything in my life."

If you find yourself at this place in life, then I believe that you will find a 100-day program that I've designed -- called the Perfect 100 -- to be JUST what you need to perfect virtually everything in, around and about your life.

This may well be the most unusual course you'll ever participated in because the focus is so uniquely personal -- and progressive.  You are going to want to be feeling a VERY strong pull to perfect your life in order to get the most out of this program.  If you don't feel the pull, I suggest that you wait to take the program until that pull is quite strong.

Here's what you'll be doing...
Over the next 100 days, you'll be perfecting your life.  It's that simple.  You'll start by first identifying about 25 items, things, situations, possessions, etc., that you know you want to clean up, fix, buff up, and/or perfect.  What type of things?  It's completely your choice, but your Perfect list could include everything from installing a hook near the door so you have a consistent place to hang your car keys to getting a merchant account for your website or to handle your client billing.  From perfecting your filing system or simply abandoning the fantasy that you'll ever be good with paper.  From resolving a difficult situation with a loved one to perfecting the relationship with your best friend.  We're talking items to make your life easier, simplified, automated, more beautiful, selfish and highly personal.    Then, over the coming weeks, you'll be discovering new, cool things to add to your list.  All the way to 100 items that you will have perfected during this course.

Why perfect your life?
If I have to answer this question for you, then we're probably both in trouble.  That said, however, the notion of having a perfect life IS a relatively new idea which has become possible thanks to increased levels of awareness in humans that makes this notion now be possible and permissible, the economic prosperity that affords perfection, the cultural freedom to be selfish enough to go for perfect, and the recognition of how much not having a perfect life is costing you in terms of quality of life, opportunities missed and the sheer pleasure of having your life be exactly like you want it.

Intrigued yet?
How many people do you know who have a perfect life? Or better asked, "What would you and your life look like if you perfected 100 items -- of your choosing -- in your life?"

How the Perfect 100 Program will help you perfect your life....
Let me be as upfront, clear, forthright and direct as I can by saying that you'll be doing 99% of the work to perfect your life.  Granted, the program will offer some cool ways to educate, support and motivate you to start and keep going along this path until you reach your 100 perfected items, but you'll be doing the work in your own life.

That said, I've identified 5 ways that I and this program can help you perfect these 100 items.  (Believe me, as you identify and progress towards perfecting these 100 things, you'll quickly see how having a perfect life is probable outcome, not just a pipedream or a possibility.)

The 5 Supportive Elements of the Perfect 100 Program...

1.  Orientation Session.
This is a 90-minute session conducted by conference call (TeleClass).  You'll learn the steps in this process, how to select your first 25 (out of 100) items to perfect, and how to organize your life in order to make the most of this program.  You will also meet the other participants and if you wish, buddy up for support between calls.

2.  Forms/Tools.
We've got some extensive materials and resources available for you -- checklists, forms, tips, ClassNotes, RealAudio clips and inspiring stories from past participants.  Together, these resources give you the tools you need to get started properly.

3.  Ten WorkDays.
During the 100-day program we'll be scheduling 10 WorkDays where you and the other participants may call into the bridge several times during that day to plan, focus and report on the specific items you are perfecting that day.  These WorkDays are FUN and incredibly effective -- especially if you a busy person and 'need' the structure and focus that this type of virtual environment provides.  I run most of these WorkDays myself and I'll be working during them just as you are.  Together, we'll reach our respective Perfect 100's... (Note: WorkDays are offered at different times/days during the Program; you'll receive at least a 3-day notice when the next one is being conducted.)

4.  Three Coaching Days.
During the 100-day program, you may call in to chat with me personally if you need some advice or help related to one of your Perfect 100 items.  I'll be hosting 3 of these Coaching Days over the 100 days.  Calls are short (5-10 minutes), unscheduled and tightly focused.  These lazer coaching sessions are generally quite helpful and effective.

5.  Daily Email Tips.
As a participant, you'll receive a daily email from me which will have the Perfection Tip of the Day, a success story from a participant (maybe you!), and program news and newly added program features.  You may also share your current 'score' and we'll include that in the email if you wish.

You may be wondering how much all of this is going to cost...
I guess that I could try to impress upon you the value of having a perfect life, or I could just price this coaching program ridiculously low.  How does $99 for the whole thing sound?  I'm going to price this program at $99 for the first 200 folks who register.  After that, it's $179. (Find out below how to know if you are one of the first 200.)

Why only $99?  Who knows, really?  Pricing is such an arbitrary thing.  I think the overriding reason for the low cost is that I want as many folks to play who want to play.  The notion of having a perfect life is still very new and I want to popularize it.
Plus, this particular format for the 100-day is a first; welcome to the world of R&D.

Special bonus for coaches, trainers, consultants...
If you're a coach, trainer, counselor or consultant and you would like to deliver the Perfect 100 program to your clients, by taking this course yourself you are automatically licensed to conduct this program to others -- to the public, to your clients, to your company.  From 10 folks to 1,000,000. It's up to you.  (Note:  You are licensed to conduct a live or TeleClass version.  You don't have the license to package a web, RealAudio, ebook, e-version or printed book e-version of this program; we retain that exclusive right.)  But if you're looking for a COOL program to use with your clients or as a network-building marketing tool, the Perfect 100 Program is a powerful one.  And, as you conduct it, your own life will become just that more perfect; which is the ultimate benefit of conducting this program.
Your license runs for 2 years and the license fee is included in the $99 tuition.

Pricing and Dates...
Again, the full cost of the program is $99.  Everything you read about above is included.  And, we offer a 100%-satisfaction-guaranteed guarantee.

About the satisfaction guarantee
If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with this package within one year (365 days!) simply email us with a request to refund/credit your credit card in the full amount and we will do so immediately -- no questions asked. It's our policy to do this and we honor this in every single case.  (Why?  Because it's good business to do this.  It virtually eliminates the buying risk on your part and it keeps us on our toes!)

Dates
The Program runs 100 days:  June 5 through September 12, 2001. The 90-minute, single session Orientation Session is Monday June 4th, 2001, from 300-430pm Eastern (which will be taped/transcribed if you can't make this date).
The 10 WorkDays and the 5 Coaching Hotline Days will be announced during the program (3 days prior notice for each).

The program is conducted by Thomas J. Leonard
Tuition: $99 for the first 200 registrants.  $179 thereafter.

Important Notes
1. You are essentially buying a supportive environment for 100 days.  You will be doing most of the work; our job is to support you in the ways we have described above.
2. You may call in to all, some or none of the WorkDays and Coaching Days.  It's entirely up to you.  Some folks work better on their own; others enjoy the interaction.
3. If you're concerned about starting a program over the summer, consider that the summer can be the BEST time to perfect your life.
4. If you want to conduct this program for others, you may begin to do so anytime after July 1, 2001.  This, because we want you to at least first attend the orientation and be making progress on your Perfect 100 items before starting to conduct this program for others.
